My work with photography is influenced by my background in documentary filmmaking. I’ve always enjoyed documenting people and telling their stories through a visual medium. My approach to photography starts with the idea that everyday life can be beautiful and interesting just the way it is. I look to capture emotion & honesty in my images.

My goal with any subject matter is to approach it with the intention to understand and document it. The beauty of a elderly woman doing Tai Chi in the morning sunlight. The joy & excitement of a newly married couple. A child posing for a shot in the middle of play. The swirling action of capturing a live production. To be in the mix of life and taking pictures is the most thrilling thing, that’s why I shoot.
